Headpiece.com restores and restyles wax flower crowns and headpieces dating from the 1920s to 50s.

Marie receives inquiries from all over the world seeking her knowledge in preserving their family’s antique flower crown. Many brides who consult with Marie don’t even realize that the fragile gem they possess is an heirloom flower wedding crown made of wax. Wax flower restoration is a very intricate, delicate process, and working to restyle wax flower crowns requires a high level of mastery and patience. Marie tediously repairs broken wax flowers and replaces old, deteriorated frames.

If you are a bride who wants to wear your grandmother’s headpiece with a modern flair, meet with Marie to restyle your wax flower crown into an ethereal bridal accessory with added freshwater pearls, crystals, and gems. Repurposing a vintage wax flower crown into a set of jeweled bridal hair clips is our most popular choice because brides can wear them again and again.

1949 WAX FLOWER CROWN

Chelsea’s 1920’s family heirloom wax flower headpiece was the most fragile piece I have ever worked with. All of the wax flowers were broken. I told her I didn’t think they could be saved but that we could use the remaining wax buds to create something beautiful. Adding genuine gemstones of Citrine and Prehnite created a pastel hue and opulence. I surprised her with an intricate repair of all the broken petals on the wax flowers and repurposed her grandmother's headpiece into a gorgeous floral halo.

1950s WAX FLOWER TIARA

Robyn was going to DIY her grandmother’s wax flower tiara but came across Headpiece.com on Instagram. This bride actually had no idea her crown was even made of wax. She loved the hints of green on three of the wax flowers, so I used them as the focal point for her bridal accessory. Robyn surprised her mom and sister-in-law with wax flower hairpins on her wedding day.

1924 WAX FLOWER HEADPIECE

Sanna’s great-grandmother’s wax flower crown is the oldest proven piece I have restored. She sent me a sepia toned wedding photo dated February 16th, 1924. This antique piece was also worn by her grandmother in 1951 and her mom in 1985. When I received this very fragile crown it was badly in need of repair.

I restored it with precision and you can see it all on this blog.

1949 WAX FLOWER CROWN

Carolyn had an abundance of wax flowers to use to restyle her grandmother’s 1949 headpiece. She wanted her bridal accessories to have a delicate and ethereal look. We decided to create a delicate brooch to be worn in the back of her upstyle, with additional hairpins to provide a romantic feel. Clear crystals and white opals created a beautiful brilliance amidst the 14 KG and Silver accents.
