Fourteenth: Dramatic Wedding Veils

While the fashion world was elated at the astounding sight of Priyanka Chopra’s wedding veil walking down the aisle to marry Nick Jonas, thoughts came to my mind; where was the bride, and did she skydive into the venue? Was her veil dramatic, or instead, did it create drama?

I have had many great opportunities to custom design dramatic wedding veils. It is not the veil alone that makes it dramatic. The gown, the aisle, the venue, and the bride all play a role in creating the perfect dramatic wedding veil.

Roma’s veil was designed using the lace appliqués from her mom’s veil. The wind blew perfectly in the right direction as she walked to her fiancé.

Dianna’s veil was nicknamed “The Bear” while on the design table at the shop. Her cathedral veil finished at 142 inches with an extended blusher. We hand-placed over 1000 pearls and crystals in a graduated pattern, from the tiniest beads at the top to the chunkiest at the bottom.

Fashion from historical Spanish queens inspired Nicole’s veil. Her tulle was silver, and her lace was specially made in France from silver thread.

The romantic and classic style of Grace Kelly influenced Emily’s veil design. I studied the lace for several hours before making the first cut for hand application. Her veil took days to complete.

Adrianna came to Headpiece.com for a dramatic wedding veil, not knowing fully what she wanted.

I knew I wanted something unique and long! Marie had all of these amazing ideas and suggestions. Ultimately she created exactly what I was envisioning!

When I married, there were not many choices for veils. There weren’t shops like Headpiece.com that created and designed veils. I loved so many things about Adrianna’s veil. What I loved most was that it was one of a kind and created especially for her. Once the veil was placed, I couldn’t help but feel like she was the most beautiful bride I had ever seen. Her veil made everything complete.

I am so deliberate when guiding a bride through the design process. The ultimate ending is to see unmasked beauty from every angle.

Adrianna purchased one yard of lace from Berta, the designer of her gown. I combined her lace with a beautiful imported French Guipure lace scallop trim to finish the perimeter of our best-selling style, the Valerie Veil. Our bride opted for more length to ensure a dramatic entrance. The finished length was 140 inches long.

It was a slightly windy on our wedding day. When I came out of the church for pictures, I remember my veil naturally flowing in the wind. It made for one of my favorite photos.

I was excited to meet with Maura. She went to school with my daughters, and we have shared many academic and sports events through the years. Her Amsale bridal gown was clean and tailored. Maura knew she wanted a beautiful bridal veil and was open to all the Headpiece.com experience has to offer.

Maura visited several stores before she selected her gown. She knew that she wanted to have a special veil, and knew that she could trust Marie at Headpiece.com. Marie designed a beautiful and unique veil...truly a work of art. It was soft and translucent. The lace was amazingly beautiful. One of my favorite moments was seeing Maura’s face when she looked at her reflection in the mirror after she put the veil on. She was glowing!

Due to our long family friendship, I have followed and admired Headpiece.com for a very long time - before even meeting Frank!

I intentionally chose a simple dress because I wanted the veil to be an incredible “wow factor.” I had never seen a double cathedral veil before, but I loved it! When my mom and I came to pick it up and I tried it on, I was completely blown away by its beauty. The veil was completely perfect!
Maura’s veil was beautiful! When you consider the quality of the veiling, it flows and falls better and photographs much better. Marie’s veils are always a treat!

Berit’s photo was the first I have ever seen that captured the delicate sheen of our rich silk-glazed fabric.

Adrianna and Maura wore beautifully different dramatic couture veils, with their weddings separated by just eight days. Next month on the blog, I will feature a very special bride whose wedding fell between theirs. I hope you will follow to see wedding accessory fashions never seen before.
